Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thoi Trung received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from National University of Singapore in 2010 with Best Ph.D. Thesis award. He has been now the Director of Institute for Computational Science & Artificial Intelligence, Van Lang University (VLU). His research interests include Computational Mechanics, Applied Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence. He has published over 320 ISI papers, finished 6 national research projects, H-index = 69 with more than 17700 ISI citations. He is a member of Scientific Council of National Foundation for Science and Technology Development (NAFOSTED), major in Mechanics – Engineering (terms of 2020 – 2022; 2022 – 2024). He was granted the research fund with title “Bualuang ASEAN Chair Professor” (2022–2024) of Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University, Thailand. He was listed in top 1% Highly Cited Researchers (Clarivate Analytics, Web of Science, America) in 2021, top 2% of worldwide scientists with top citations for 6 consecutive years (2019 – 2024) by Stanford University, the receiver of the “Lifetime Achievement Award” of Ton Duc Thang University in 2017, etc. He is a member of Editorial Board of Journal “Computers & Structures” (Q1, Elsevier) and some other journals. He is one of the 100 Vietnamese and global influencers participating in the VIETNAM GLOBAL LEADERS FORUM 2024 held in Paris, France on 30-31 March 2024.
