Pham Hoang Nam was born on April 2, 1966, in Hanoi, in a family with a maritime tradition. He began his photography career at an early age, later studying cinematography and earning a scholarship to study at VGIK (All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography). With a career spanning from 1993 to 2007, Pham Hoang Nam gained recognition as a director of photography in several notable films, especially “Ai xuôi vạn lý” and “Hải Nguyệt.” In addition to his work in film direction, he also directed music shows and received the Mai Vang Award in 2006. He is considered a pioneer in event direction and earned the title “light wizard” for his distinctive ability to create unique lighting atmospheres in artistic performances.
