Dr. Nguyen Hung Son is currently a Professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland. He has been studying and working in Poland since 1987, specializing in two fields: Theoretical Mathematics and Informatics.
His research areas include the theoretical foundations and applications of rough sets, machine learning, data mining, bioinformatics, soft computing, and multi-agent systems, among others. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Son is the author of over 140 scientific papers, with more than 25 published in the last five years, featured in numerous books, journals, and international conference proceedings. He is a member of the editorial boards of several prestigious scientific journals, such as *Fundamenta Informaticae*, *Transactions on Rough Sets*, *Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery*, *Computational Intelligence*, and *Applied Intelligence*. Additionally, he serves as the Program Chair for many international conferences.
Over the past decade, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Son has participated in seven research and application projects funded by Poland’s National Centre for Research and Development and the European Union, acting as the project leader for five of them. He also collaborates with various scientific institutions in Vietnam, including the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and Duy Tan University in Da Nang. He is currently supervising several Ph.D. candidates and contributing to a national-level project in Vietnam (the FIRST Project).
Nguyen Hung Son has received several prestigious accolades, including second place at the International Mathematics Competition, the Rector’s Award from the University of Warsaw for scientific research excellence, three Best Paper Awards at conferences, and honorary membership in the International Rough Set Society.
