Mr. Hung joined MoMo in 2013 with the ambition to revolutionize the mobile payment and personal finance landscape in Vietnam. With a deep passion and understanding of technology, Mr. Hung has pursued his dream of creating solutions that contribute to a better life for the Vietnamese people.
At MoMo, Mr. Hung serves as the chief architect of the entire core technology system and provides product design consultancy for the super app, which has over 30 million users. Although deeply involved in the technology sector, Mr. Hung possesses sharp business acumen, ensuring that his technological solutions are always practical and help MoMo achieve its business objectives.
Mr. Hung has played a key role in making MoMo the leading super app platform in Vietnam, developed 100% by Vietnamese engineers. When Mr. Hung joined MoMo, the technology team consisted of around 20 people. Currently, MoMo has 800 technology engineers, including over 200 AI engineers, focusing on developing solutions to drive business growth, optimize costs, foster innovation, personalize and elevate user experiences.
Mr. Hung graduated from the University of Natural Sciences (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City) and holds a Master’s Degree from the Institut de la Francophonie pour l’Informatique (IFI). Before joining MoMo, he worked for IBM in France and held senior management positions in securities companies and banks. Mr. Hung has over 20 years of experience in the Fintech industry.
Besides his work at MoMo, Mr. Hung is a frequent speaker at technology forums and events, lectures at IFI and various training programs, provides consultancy on technology transformation for banks, and contributes to policy changes at the State Bank of Vietnam.
In his free time, Mr. Hung has a particular interest in sports and enjoys participating in marathon and Ironman competitions. He is also one of the few Vietnamese CTOs to complete the Full Ironman 140.6 triathlon in Western Australia in December 2022
